Carry the Cross Foundation deeply values your privacy and trust. All stories and files you submit will be anonymized before any use. We will never publish your name, contact info, or identifying details unless you explicitly give us permission in the form below. Your personal health and insurance experiences are sensitive — we are fully committed to protecting them. Thank you for courageously sharing and helping us fight for patients.

When you submit your story to Carry the Cross Foundation, we follow this strict, manual process before anything is ever shared publicly:

1. We remove all identifying information
   • Full names → changed to “Mary from Texas” or “a 72-year-old veteran”
   • Exact cities/towns → changed to region only (e.g., “rural Midwest”)
   • Provider names, clinic names, insurance plan numbers, policy IDs → deleted or replaced with generics (“a major Medicare Advantage insurer,” “my local pharmacy”)
   • Dates → changed to “last month,” “early 2025,” etc.
   • Any uploaded documents → redacted with black boxes over names, addresses, account numbers, etc.

1. Two people review every story. One team member anonymizes it; a second double-checks that nothing traceable remains.
2. We keep the original locked & separate. Your original submission (with full details) is stored in an encrypted, access-restricted folder that is never published or shared with anyone outside our small core team.
3. You stay in control (please write in 
   • If you say “Yes, you may use my real first name” or give other permission, we will only use exactly what you allow.
   • If you say “No” or leave it blank → 100% anonymous, always.

                Other examples: 

• “Keep me 100% anonymous.”
• “You may use my first name only (e.g., Mary from Texas)”
• “You may use my full name and story.”
• Or write anything else you’re comfortable with.

We do this so you can speak freely and safely — while still letting your experience powerfully expose the harm caused by PBMs, insurance denials, and data theft.
